TSAWALK TEEN LEARNING CENTRE

What:

Tsawalk is an alternate educational program in Nanaimo for students, aged 12 to 19 years, who have been out of school or are at risk of being out of school. Learners are involved in the creation of their individualized plan and learning takes place in a variety of informal settings. The Tsawalk program developed out of a partnership between the Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre, the Mid-Island Métis Association, the Boys and Girls Club of Central Vancouver Island and School District 84 to address a perceived need to re-engage students who have been out of school or at risk of leaving school.
