Our local public School District provides education for school age children and teens from Kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as programs for pre-schoolers and adults (see our Island ConnectEd listing). The various programs include regular education K-12, Junior and Senior Learning Alternatives, Aboriginal Education, and the Career Technical Centre, among many others.
Most of the public schools operate from September to June each year, Learning Alternatives Grade 8-12 operates year round. To enroll, registration forms are available at schools or on-line and need to be dropped off at the school closest to where families live (although specific schools can be requested).
Education is free for all students studying up to and including Grade 12.
